Within this work package we will investigate the political and regulatory context of AAFNs and how current policies on the European, national and local level facilitate or impeded their development, and how policy frameworks could better facilitate them.

Objectives:

1. to link theoretical perspectives with policies relevant to AAFNs at a European, regional and national level.


2. to draw conclusions about policy changes and future research which could facilitate AAFNs.


3. to make recommendations about research, innovation and agricultural policies for Europe as a ‘knowledge-based bio-economy’ aimed at policy makers, researchers and practitioners.
